Ask the Vac-Con Service Guru

selby-1      On an average day, our Vac-Con Service Guru, err, Service Manager, Mike Selby, fields approximately one zillion and one questions throughout the course of the day.  Some simple, some complicated, some technical, and others easily explained in lamens terms.  So we figured, hey, if one of us is wondering about this we bet there is at least one other person on planet earth wondering the same thing, so we’re going to lay them out there for you.  Oh, by the way, if you have any particular questions you’d like to ask, please feel free to e-mail them to stephanielee@vac-con.com and we’ll be sure to get you an answer straight away.

So on day 1 of our “Ask the Vac-Con Service Guru” Blog, we’re going to start with a few simple FAQ’s.

1.   Q: How many gallons does my debris tank hold?

A: Each tank’s volume is determined by the customer’s specification.  A Google  search will result in 201.974026 gallon per cubic yard (if you want to be all technical) but we round down to 200 (we like to keep things simple).

2.   This one’s for all of our non-Florida friends (wish you were here).

Q: How cold can it get before I have to stop using my truck?

A: Standing water freezes at 32 degrees F (0 degrees C).  Vac-Con employs the use of a winter recirculation system to keep water moving to reduce the likelihood of the water solidifying.

3.   Q: How much weight can I haul with my truck?  (We know, we know, you like to test the limits, but we’d really like to keep ya safe).

A: The weight regulations are mandated by the Federal Department of Transportation; also your local governments may have restrictions specific to their city, town or county.  You must look inside the driver’s side door and find the yellow final stage sticker to find out what the chassis Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is.

4.   Q: How much does water weigh per gallon?

A: 8.34 lbs per gallon
